The livery stable was built north of Clarks Fork Canyon in the late 1870s. Curley was a scout for General Custer and was the lone survivor of the attack on General Custer's forces. He carried news of Custer's defeat to Montana settlements. The cabin was build near Crow Agency about 1885.
