May we introduce you to the 7 D Guest Ranch.

The Dominick Family, along with our staff , extends a warm welcome to you. We appreciate the time you are taking to visit us on the Internet and are pleased that you may be considering vacationing with us. We hope your visit will be informative and helpful. Anytime we can be of personal assistance or answer questions for you, please let us know.

The 7 D Ranch is in Wyoming’s Sunlight Basin surrounded by the Absaroka and Beartooth Mountains and is a family-operated Ranch. Guests of all ages enjoy exploring and viewing the majestic snow-capped mountains, crystal streams including Sunlight Creek, Crandall Creek and the Clarks Fork. The lush pristine meadows of the Absaroka Wilderness and Shoshone National Forest offer unique and tantalizing trail riding and pack trip experiences.

Our family enjoys and appreciates all the seasons of the year at the Ranch, but springtime is very special for us. Snow begins to melt from the snow-capped mountain peaks surrounding the valley we call home, birds are returning and wildflowers begin to blossom. Spring branding signals the start of guest preparations for the season. We are pleased that we are able to raise much of our own beef for the pleasure of our guests, and we maintain a small herd of cattle at the Ranch. Following branding and other busy activities, everyone anxiously awaits the arrival of our guests.

The 7 D has become a home away from home for many of our guests, and we are pleased that many are able to return year after year. Single individuals, couples, families and grandparents seem to thrive in the lovely mountain atmosphere of the Ranch, and all are welcome. We are especially proud of our children's programs and activities. We have been privileged to watch some great children grow to be young men and women and return to the Ranch as adults.

Fly Fishing at the Ranch is a favorite activity of many of the guests, though there are so many wonderful activities it can be a challenge to decide what you might want to do on any given day. Hiking along the trails or riding a mountain bike on a photo excursion to photograph waterfalls, wildflowers, wildlife, or mountain scenery is always enjoyable. Wildlife in the area includes grizzly bear, deer, elk, moose, wolf and buffalo. Day trips to Yellowstone Park, Red Lodge and Cooke City, Montana, with a drive over the Beartooth Pass or to Cody to visit the Buffalo Bill Historical Center or Old Trail Town are all favorite activities. Occasionally, the 7 D hosts Geological Field Trips through Yellowstone Park with a local geologist, or invites guest speakers to speak at the Ranch on a wide range of topical subjects; for example, grizzly bears or wolf reintroduction in Yellowstone. Evening activities can include cookouts, games for young people, cowboy poetry, cowboy singing, and square dancing.

Each guest is assigned a horse during their stay from our remuda of 60 horses. Experienced and friendly wranglers always have a smile for guests and are anxious to assist them with horsemanship, Trail Rides, and pack trips. Spencer and Allison Dominick will help you plan and prepare for a pack trip.Custom pack trips are available throughout the area including Yellowstone National Park. Fishing, and hunting trips are also available. Please join us at the "homeplace" as we visit cabins, tour the lodge, stop by the recreation hall, and have a cup of coffee and relax. We hope you have enjoyed your visit and that you will be able to rendezvous with us at the Ranch.
